FAQs
What to expect in the first session?
The first session will be an assessment session that usually lasts an hour and a half. Sometimes assessment sessions need more time depending on your difficulties and history and therefore this process can sometimes take up to two sessions to complete. During the assessment session/s we will meet to discuss your current problems, your relevant history and your goals for therapy. By the end of the assessment we’ll aim to have a shared understanding of your needs and agree on a plan for how we might work together to help you move forward.

Is therapy right for me?
Deciding to start therapy can feel like a big step – and it’s completely normal to feel uncertain. You don’t need to be in crisis or have a mental health diagnosis to benefit from therapy. May people seek support because they feel overwhelmed, stuck or simply want to understand themselves better.

Therapy maybe helpful if you are:
-
Struggling with anxiety, low mood or stress.
-
Finding it hard to cope with a recent change or life event.
-
Experiencing difficulties in relationships
-
Having trouble coping at work or with the demands of life
-
Dealing with past trauma or unresolved experiences
-
Feeling lost, disconnected or unsure of a life decision or how to cope with a change in life transition or circumstance.
-
Wanting build self-esteem or manage emotions more effectively.
Whatever brings you to therapy, this is a space where you can speak openly without judgement and away from friends or loved ones. We will work at your pace to make sense of what you are going through and find a way forward that feels right for you.
If you are unsure whether therapy is right for you, we can use the initial assessment session to explore your needs and goals and decide together what might be most helpful to you.
